PORSCHE

Porsche is a producer of luxury sports-styled cars and race cars, as well as sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Based in Germany, the Porsche brand is owned and operated by Volkswagen, another German automaker.
Porsche was originally based in Austria, where the engineer Ferdinand Porsche founded the company in 1931. Porsche started out as a design and engineering consultancy but moved into the manufacture of original vehicles by the end of the decade. During WW2, Porsche submitted various proposals for tank prototypes and despite losing major contracts, still manufactured two models of the Maus tank.

The Porsche 356 and 360 were the first cars produced and sold by the company, both of which reached market after the war had concluded. The 356 was made with several parts that were originally used for the VW Beetle, although those part designs were eventually retooled to be unique to Porsche. Porsche’s most popular and enduring models of sports cars include the 911, the 928, the 944, the Boxster, the Spyder, the Cayenne SUV, the 918 and an array of older models that are no longer in production.

In the early 2000s Porsche released the consumer model of the Cayenne, a high-end SUV that was manufactured in the company’s cutting-edge facility in Leipzig. The Cayenne was popular with customers, as was the modern design of the Porsche Boxster.
In 2015, Porsche had dozens of models on offer for the discerning sports car enthusiast. The Cayman, 918 Spyder, Panamera and the Macan are all available in addition to the Boxster, 911 and Cayenne marks, with a variety of aesthetic and cosmetic differences available for each vehicle type.

Porsche also operates a pre-owned car program to connect buyers with responsibly-owned Porsches that are certified to be in a near-original state when purchased. Only official Porsche parts are used in the refurbishment process, and each car in the program is subject to verification of ownership and history. A minimum 1-year warranty is included when buying any car through the company-operated pre-owned program. As well, any work done on pre-owned Porsches is guaranteed to be completed by official Porsche technicians, who have been trained extensively to adhere to the highest standards of quality.
