VP/Director of Finance

As the VP/ Director of Finance you will; * Assess impact of new accounting guidelines or other environmental changes * Manage planning of the company's oversight framework * Overlook all facets of oversight activities using risk-based tactics * Provide expert guidance to the senior management team * Contribute to deliberations on essential issues facing the company * Supervise cash flow forecasts * Join forces with other teams within the business * Mediate with external advisers * Scrutinize general accounting functions for investments, capital assets, payroll, institutional payments and payments * Oversee dispensation of weekly and quarterly institutional payments * Hiring, training and retaining competent finance staff * The ability to connect, build and retain relationships with indispensable members of the company's shareholder community * Overlook corporate financial reporting * Provide expert recommendations to appraisers, auditors, government officials and others * Establish integrity of the payment and award information in the company’s data base * Overlook advancement and Progression of diverse aspects of the company's administration systems * This role requires frequent travel within Canada Qualifications * Chartered detail oriented Accountant designation (CPA) * Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant fields * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Excellent French and English verbal and writing skills * Extensive experience in the oversight of grants and contributions programs * This role requires advanced strategic planning, negotiation, communication and management skills * Experience in the review and testing of processes & controls * Advanced knowledge of financial and risk management, governance and operational excellence * Strong analytical skills to perform meaningful financial analysis and to properly interpret financial data * Key interpersonal skills include refinement, ambition, high standards and overall accountability If you are looking for a career opportunity To apply; please email your resume and cover letter to ottawa@roberthalf.com Attn: Tracy, Stuart and/or Julian.
